Privacy Policy

Construction Calculator (“the app”) is made by Worth A Try LLC. It works out feet, inches and fractions, metric measurements, concrete, roofs, stairs and square footage, and saves results by job. This policy explains what stays on your device and which services the app uses.
Your work stays on your device
The calculation on screen, the tape of finished calculations, your jobs (their names, notes such as an address or a client, and the calculations and tool results saved in them), your settings and your first-run answers are stored in the app’s own storage on your iPhone or iPad. The app does not upload them to us or to any server and does not sync them through iCloud. We never see your measurements, job names or notes. Like other app data, they can be included in your device’s own iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on.
There is no account to create and no sign-in. The app never asks for your name, email address or phone number, and it does not ask for access to your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts or notifications.
When you choose Share as text or Share as PDF, or share a tool’s result, the app makes the text or PDF on your device and hands it to the app or person you pick in Apple’s share sheet. From there, that destination’s own privacy policy applies. Copying a value puts it on your device’s clipboard.
Service data
Working on your device does not mean the app never connects to the internet. It uses these services for purchases, usage measurement and crash reporting:
- Firebase Authentication: creates an anonymous identifier, a random ID, without asking for a name, email address or password. The same ID is used with the services below, so purchase access, usage events and crash reports can be tied to an installation of the app rather than to a named person. It is a pseudonymous identifier, not a promise that records are unlinked.
- RevenueCat: processes purchase and entitlement information, such as the anonymous ID, product identifiers, transaction dates and purchase history, plus related device and app information, to verify Pro access, restore purchases and provide subscription management. Apple processes payment; we never receive your payment-card details.
- Apple Search Ads attribution: if you installed the app after tapping an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple’s AdServices framework gives the app an attribution token. The app passes it to RevenueCat once per install so we can learn which ad campaign led to the install. This does not use your device’s advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Mixpanel: receives usage events tied to the anonymous ID: the first-run screens you see and your answers there (your trade, units, fraction precision, what you work out most and how you work it out today), which tools and screens you open, broad categories of the calculations you finish (whether the answer is a number, a length, an area or a volume, and roughly how many numbers were in the sum), actions such as fixing a number, undoing, copying, changing the precision, saving to a job or opening the share menu, your response to the rating prompt, and paywall views, the plans shown and chosen, and purchase and restore results. RevenueCat may also send our Mixpanel project purchase and subscription events such as renewals and cancellations. The Mixpanel SDK adds technical metadata such as device model, operating system, app version and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Events never include your measurements, job names or notes.
- Firebase Crashlytics: receives crash reports and some error reports, including stack traces, device and app information and an installation identifier. Reports may be associated with the anonymous ID. They do not include your measurements, job names or notes.
- Firebase Remote Config: the app checks it for app settings when it starts, which uses a Firebase installation identifier.
We use this information to provide purchase access, find and fix crashes, understand which features help and where people get stuck, measure which campaigns bring installs, and improve the app. The app shows no ads, does not ask for advertising tracking permission, and does not collect contacts, photos or precise location. We do not sell your data.
Service providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies: Firebase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel and Apple. Processing may take place outside your country.
Deletion and support
Swipe a job, a saved result or a tape entry to delete it, or clear the whole tape with Clear tape on the tape screen. Settings → Delete my data deletes every job, the tape and your settings from the device, deletes the anonymous Firebase identifier and starts a new analytics identity. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. None of this cancels an Apple subscription, and a lifetime purchase stays with your Apple Account. Records already held by service providers may be kept for the periods their policies describe, and purchase records may need to be kept for accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations.
Contact support@worthatry.co for access, correction or deletion requests concerning service data. Because the app has no account, we may need information from you to find the relevant record. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include.
Children
The app is a tool for building work and is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EU/EEA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in those groups. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.
