Terms of Service — Signed

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Signed app (“App”), operated by Worth A Try Co (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

1. What Signed is (and isn’t)

Signed is a tool for creating and placing signatures on PDF documents on your iOS device.

Important legal disclaimer: Signed helps you apply a signature image to a PDF. Whether a digitally signed document is legally binding depends on the jurisdiction, the type of document, and the agreement of all parties involved. We make no representations about the legal enforceability of documents signed using Signed. If legal certainty matters — contracts, deeds, financial instruments, legal filings — consult a lawyer and use a service that provides a legally recognized electronic signature (e.g., one that meets the requirements of the ESIGN Act, eIDAS, or your local equivalent).

Signed is great for everyday signing: signing a form your landlord sent, initialing a waiver, signing a permission slip. It is not a substitute for certified electronic signature platforms where legal standing is critical.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/EEA) to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your subscription

Signed requires an active pro subscription to use the full app. You can create and try a signature during onboarding for free; a subscription is required to sign your own documents.

Available plans:

Monthly: $9.99 per month (no free trial)
Yearly: $39.99 per year (equivalent to $3.33/month — save 67%), starting with a 3-day free trial

Free trial (yearly only): if you start the yearly plan, you won’t be charged during the 3-day trial. Cancel before it ends and you won’t be charged. If you don’t cancel, the subscription converts to the paid yearly plan automatically at the price shown when you subscribed.

Subscriptions are billed through Apple in-app purchase. Your subscription:

Renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Can be managed or cancelled in your iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
Continues until the end of the current paid period after cancellation — you are not cut off immediately.

We don’t offer refunds beyond what Apple’s App Store refund policy provides. To request a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem process.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices. If we do, we’ll notify you in advance and your renewal will use the new price only after you’ve been notified.

4. Your data and documents

Local-first: All your signatures, initials, and PDFs are stored on your device. We don’t have access to them. This means:

You are responsible for backing up your signing assets and documents. We recommend keeping iCloud Backup enabled.
If you delete the app, your data is gone. We cannot recover it.
If you replace or lose your device without a backup, your data is gone. We cannot recover it.

AI signature generation: When you use the AI signature feature, the name you type is transmitted to Google’s Gemini model to generate a signature image. Don’t type anything other than the name you want in your signature. See our Privacy Policy for details on how this data is handled.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Signed to:

Forge someone else’s signature without their knowledge and consent.
Sign documents on behalf of another person without authorization.
Sign documents in a way that constitutes fraud or misrepresentation.
Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with the App’s security features.
Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.

If we become aware of misuse, we reserve the right to terminate your access, consistent with Apple’s policies on account termination.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Worth A Try Co and protected by intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on your personal iOS devices for personal or business purposes, subject to these Terms.

Your content: The signatures, initials, and signed documents you create are yours. We don’t claim any ownership over them. We don’t have access to them.

AI-generated signatures: Signature images generated by the AI feature are created for your use. We don’t retain or claim ownership of the generated images.

7. Third-party services

The App uses Firebase (Google), RevenueCat, and Mixpanel. Your use of these services through the App is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for those services’ availability or conduct.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

No guarantee of availability. We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We won’t be liable for any interruption of service.

AI signature quality. AI-generated signatures are creative outputs — results vary. We don’t guarantee that the AI will produce a signature you like, or one that resembles any particular handwriting style. You can always use the draw, scan, or import options instead.

No legal advice. Nothing in the App or these Terms constitutes legal advice. See Section 1.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Worth A Try Co and its affiliates, officers, and employees will not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Any loss of data, documents, or signatures (see Section 4 — back up your data).
Any damages arising from your reliance on the App for legally binding purposes without independent verification.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If a change is material, we’ll note it in the App’s release notes.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association’s Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

If you’re in the EU/EEA, nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under local law.
