Need help with Construction Calculator? Email support@worthatry.co with your device model, iOS version, app version and what went wrong. If an answer looks wrong, include the exact calculation you typed and the answer you expected.
In the app, Settings is the gear at the top of the Tools screen; open Tools with the wrench at the top right of the calculator. Settings → Contact support writes to us too.
How do I type feet, inches and fractions?
Type a number, then its unit key. For a fraction, type the top number, then tap the bottom number on the fraction row. For example, 5′ 7½″ is 5, ft, 7, in, 1, /2. Metric works the same way with m, cm and mm. Tap any number in the sum to fix it, and undo is one tap.
Why does it say “Add a unit”?
In a sum of lengths every number needs a unit, so the app never has to guess whether 3 means feet or inches. Tap the unit key after the number. Tapping a unit key twice makes an area, and three times a volume.
How precise are the answers?
Typed measurements, unit changes and + − × ÷ are kept as exact fractions, not rounded along the way (only a number too large for exact arithmetic switches to decimals). The screen does the rounding: answers show to the nearest 1/16 inch unless you choose otherwise. Change it with the 1/16″ button on the calculator display or in Settings → Fractions, anywhere from 1/2 to 1/64 inch. When a fraction had to be rounded, the answer shows ≈ in front of it. Square roots, angles and π are worked out in decimals, so those answers are close approximations.
Where are my jobs and the tape saved?
Only on this iPhone or iPad. There is no account, and jobs are not synced through iCloud or our servers, so we cannot recover them. Deleting the app deletes your jobs and the tape. Before you delete the app or switch devices, share each job you want to keep as a PDF or text and save it somewhere safe. A full backup of your device made with iCloud Backup or a computer may also include them.
How do I save and share a job?
Tap Save under the answer on the calculator, or the folder button at the top right of any tool, to save the result into a job. Open Jobs from the middle of the bar at the top of the calculator, pick the job, then tap the share button and choose Share as text or Share as PDF. Nothing leaves your device unless you share it.
Does the stair code check mean my stair passes code?
No. It compares the riser, tread and headroom with US residential limits from International Residential Code R311.7: risers at most 7¾″, treads at least 10″ and headroom at least 6′ 8″. It does not check anything else, such as handrails, guards, landings or width, and your local code may differ and has the final say. You can turn it off in Settings → Stair code check.
How do I restore a purchase?
Tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the plans screen, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. The plans screen opens whenever Pro isn’t active: on a new device or after reinstalling, it appears at the end of the short setup. Settings → Unlock Construction Calculator Pro+ opens the same screen.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Construction Calculator and tap Cancel Subscription. Subscribers can also use Settings → Your purchase in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge; Pro stays on until the end of the week you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The lifetime purchase never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. For refunds, use Apple’s Report a Problem.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Once Pro is unlocked, the calculator, tools and jobs work offline. Buying or restoring Pro needs a connection.
How do I delete my data?
Swipe a job, a saved result or a tape entry to delete it, or clear the whole tape with Clear tape on the tape screen. Settings → Delete my data removes every job, the tape and your settings from the device and deletes the app’s anonymous identifier. It does not cancel a subscription.
