Migraine Tracker: Doctor Diary (“Migraine Tracker”, “the app”) is made by Worth A Try LLC. It is a diary for migraines and headaches: you record attacks and daily check-ins, see counts of what you recorded and make a report to take to your doctor. This policy explains what stays on your device and which services the app uses.

Your diary stays on your device

Your diary is stored in the app’s own storage on your iPhone or iPad. That includes your attacks (start and end times, pain from 0 to 10, where it hurt, symptoms, suspected triggers, the medication doses you log and whether they helped, what the attack cost you, and your notes), your daily check-ins, your medication list, your next appointment date, your reminder settings and your answers in the first-run setup. We do not upload your diary to our servers, and the app does not sync it through iCloud. We never see your entries.

Your diary is included in your device’s iCloud or computer backup when backups are turned on, so restoring that backup to a new iPhone or iPad brings it back. Apple stores device backups under its own privacy policy.

There is no account to create and no sign-in. The app never asks for your name, email address or phone number. It does not ask for access to your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts or Apple Health.

Reports and exports. The doctor report is made as a PDF on your device, and the PDFs the app makes are kept in its storage. Export my data makes a spreadsheet (CSV) of your attacks and check-ins on your device. When you choose Save to Files, Share or print, or share the spreadsheet, the file goes to the place, app or person you pick. From there, that destination’s own privacy policy applies; files kept in iCloud Drive or another provider are stored by that provider.

Reminders. Reminders are local notifications your iPhone or iPad schedules itself. Their wording is fixed and does not include your entries. The app asks iOS for notification permission only after you tap to turn reminders on, and you can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Service data

Keeping your diary on your device does not mean the app never connects to the internet. It uses these services for purchases, usage measurement, app settings and crash reporting:

  • Firebase Authentication: creates an anonymous identifier, a random ID, when you finish the first-run setup, without asking for a name, email address or password. The same ID is used with the services below, so purchase access, usage events and crash reports can be tied to an installation of the app rather than to a named person. It is a pseudonymous identifier, not a promise that records are unlinked.
  • RevenueCat: processes purchase and entitlement information, such as the anonymous ID, product identifiers, transaction dates and purchase history, plus related device and app information, to verify access, restore purchases and provide subscription management. Apple processes payment; we never receive your payment-card details.
  • Apple Search Ads attribution: if you installed the app after tapping an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple’s AdServices framework gives the app an attribution token. The app passes it to RevenueCat so we can learn which ad campaign led to the install. This does not use your device’s advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • Mixpanel: receives usage events tied to the anonymous ID. They cover the first-run screens you see and your answers to its single-choice questions (how often attacks happen, how long a bad one lasts, whether the line about logging during an attack fits you, whether you know what sets them off, when you last saw a doctor about them and what you would most like to change); whether your first entry was a real attack or the example; starting, saving, ending and deleting entries, whether an entry was added from the Diary or the Calendar, and an attack’s length in broad ranges such as 1 to 4 hours; which daily check-in you choose (headache-free, a headache, or a migraine); how long attack mode stayed open, in broad ranges; making, saving and sharing a report, with its page count and its date range in broad ranges such as a month or a quarter; your response to the reminder request; exporting or deleting your data; your response to the rating prompt; and paywall views, the plans shown and chosen, and purchase and restore results. Each event records when it was sent, so a check-in, or an attack started in the app, shows the day and time it was logged. RevenueCat may also send our Mixpanel project purchase and subscription events such as renewals and cancellations. The Mixpanel SDK adds technical metadata such as device model, operating system, app version and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Events never include your symptoms, triggers, medication names, pain scores, where it hurt, the start and end times you record or your notes.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: receives crash reports and some error reports, including stack traces, device and app information and an installation identifier. Reports may be associated with the anonymous ID. They do not include your diary entries.
  • Firebase Remote Config: the app checks it for app settings when it starts, which uses a Firebase installation identifier.

We use this information to provide purchase access, find and fix crashes, understand which features help and where people get stuck, measure which campaigns bring installs, and improve the app. The app shows no ads, does not ask for advertising tracking permission, and does not collect contacts, photos or precise location. We do not sell your data.

Service providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies: Firebase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel and Apple. Processing may take place outside your country.

Deletion and support

To remove one attack, open it and tap Delete this attack. Settings → Delete account deletes every attack, check-in and medication from the device, clears your first-run answers, appointment and reminder settings, cancels the daily check-in and appointment reminders, requests deletion of the anonymous Firebase identifier and starts a new analytics identity. Report PDFs and spreadsheets the app has already made can stay in its storage until you delete the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. Copies in your device backups, and reports or spreadsheets you saved or shared, stay where they are.

None of this cancels an Apple subscription, and a lifetime purchase stays with your Apple Account. Records already held by service providers may be kept for the periods their policies describe, and purchase records may need to be kept for accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

Contact support@worthatry.co for access, correction or deletion requests concerning service data. Because the app has no account, we may need information from you to find the relevant record. You do not need to send your diary; if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. See Support for help with the app and the Terms of Use for the rules of using it.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EU/EEA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in those groups. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.
